I've received a request coming from R46 Ukraine.

As you know some years back Russia annexed the Cremea.

Sysops are now requesting that net-460 which covers the Crimea and which is currently in "R46" transfers to "R50" ...

How do we feel about that ?

Do we need to observe an embargo such as a majority of the rest of the workd does or grant the request?

But it seems to me that Russia and not-Russia shouldn't have any hard dependencies right about now.

But it seems to me that Russia and not-Russia shouldn't have any hard dependencies right about now.

I talked to everybody concerned and we're keeping the status-quo while the conflict is going on. It would generate way too much flak but there is a case to be made for the move in view of how the telephony service is handled there. Still lots of PSTN but it would be better for 460 to remain in R46 for the time being.

When there is again a kind of normalcy, but don't ask me when that is going to happen, then the move will be on the agenda again ...
