Breezy for most
Increasingly showery Mediterranean
Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 16th November 2025
Duty forecaster: Dan Graves
A complex low pressure regime brings unsettled spells to many; driest
with sun southeast.
Sunday
Showers are expected for Portugal and Spain, some of them on the heavy
side near the west coast. Bright with scattered showers for the
Balearics, Sardinia and Corsica, a few on the heavy side. Heavy rain
for northern Italy with snow in the mountains, while the central and
southern parts will see plenty of sunshine. Sunny for the Balkans,
Greece, and Cyprus. West Türkiye will see plenty of sunshine, while the
east will see some wintry showers.
Scattered showers for France, northern Germany and Poland. Early
showers for the Low Countries as well, but trending drier. Rain and
snow in Switzerland, this extending into western Austria. Dry further
east but rather cloudy, these conditions also in Czechia, Slovakia and
Hungary with some patchy light rain at times. Bright with sunny spells
for Romania and Bulgaria. Belarus will see some sleet at times, but
outbreaks of rain expected for Ukraine.
Strong winds across central and southern Scandinavia into the Baltic
States. A dry start in the Baltics, then snow arrives in Lithuania.
Cold with snow showers into Norway's west coast, with some snow showers
in central Sweden and Finland. Sunnier in south Sweden and Denmark but
with occasional passing showers.
Monday
Scattered showers continue across Iberia, most frequent in the south.
More scattered showers too over the central Mediterranean islands.
Italy mostly fine but some showers will drift onto the west coast.
Similar in the Balkan States where heavy rain will frequent the west
coast, sunny well inland. Sunny and dry for Greece and Türkiye. A
strong breeze in southeast Europe but remaining mild.
A notably cooler day north of the Alps, though milder in southern
France. Scattered showers in central and southern France with snow in
the east mountains, this snow stretches widely across Switzerland into
Austria. A cold northerly pushes bright spells and wintry showers into
Germany and the Low Countries, some into northern Poland as well. Heavy
rain across southern Poland, Slovakia, and some parts of Czechia and
Hungary. Drier further east with sunshine near the Black Sea and a
strong but mild breeze.
Snow showers continue onto the Norwegian west coast. Bright in the
south, Sweden, and Denmark; little or no precipitation here. Some snow
in the western Baltic States and the south of Finland, though many
areas dry with a mix of cloud and sun.
