I see now that is probably an issue I have been having maybe for a while now but it is just now being logged? is that the case?? I'll dig through loginmatrix and stuff and see if something is calling for that file somewhere.

I don't think answer.msg should even reside in /sbbs/text/menu should
it?
I have it in /sbbs/text
I have copied it over to ../text/menu in the meantime to see if it
cools down the errors, but the only thing I have done is updated the
code and re-compiled --- Tim (kk4qbn)

Yeah, it was a silent failure for a while now. And yes, answer.msg is normally in the text dir (not text/menu).
I had exactly the same issue. I thought it was me. I guess it somehow got in the menu directory at some point.[00:25] <nelgin>> Sat Oct 12 01:56:41 2024 master/9c5f295d6

I believe something is actually calling for it from there mistakingly, like login matrix or someting I havent had the chance to check it out yet.
I've looked at DDLoginMatrix, Because for me this is only happening when bot users are calling in (tons of them), and in LoginMatrix.js GTraditionalGrettingFile variable is set to "../answer" I wonder if it's possible that it is this.. I dunno.. I'm setting it to /sbbs/text/answer and see what happens.
Nope, thats not it.. copying answer.msg back to ../text/menu to shut it up until I can figure it out..

What script is running when that error happens?
Could be coming from DDLoginMatrix.js
