Updated codebase yesterday and recompiled and since doing so I've got this error close to 800 times in about 6 hours..

I don't think answer.msg should even reside in /sbbs/text/menu should it?

I have it in /sbbs/text

I have copied it over to ../text/menu in the meantime to see if it cools down the errors, but the only thing I have done is updated the code and re-compiled

I see now that is probably an issue I have been having maybe for a while now but it is just now being logged? is that the case?? I'll dig through loginmatrix and stuff and see if something is calling for that file somewhere.

Yeah, it was a silent failure for a while now. And yes, answer.msg is normally in the text dir (not text/menu).

got in the menu directory at some point.
I even mentioned it on irc...

I've looked at DDLoginMatrix, Because for me this is only happening when bot users are calling in (tons of them), and in LoginMatrix.js GTraditionalGrettingFile variable is set to "../answer" I wonder if it's possible that it is this.. I dunno.. I'm setting it to /sbbs/text/answer
and see what happens.

This is the only thing I can see would be doing this.

Nope, thats not it.. copying answer.msg back to ../text/menu to shut it up until I can figure it out..

Ah, your issues was slightly different than mine. My system was complaining there was no answer.msg in /sbbs/text rather than /sbbs/text/menu. Might just have to grep -r "text/menu" and see what shakes. :)

OK, this is interesting, I just moved answer.msg out the way and tried to telnet in and get:
