• How to delete a stuck Email?

From Diamond Dave@1:103/705 to All on Sun Aug 11 09:05:24 2024
It looks like one of my users tried to send an Internet Email, but it is stuck and I can't figure out how to delete it out of the system.

The error message is in the format of

    SEND Message #4065 from <user@dmine.net>
    to 'person's name' <mail@domain.com> - in transit

How do I either 1) get it out of transit or 2) just delete it.

    Thanks!

you shouldnt even let your users send internet mail.
you can change your max attempts to something lower.
you can close synchronet and delete all the mail for the system. c:\sbbs\data\mail.s*

These are just things I would do. There's more proper ways, I'm sure.

You can read about the in-transit attribute (how to clear or ignore it) here: https://wiki.synchro.net/faq:tcpip#send_mail

To delete mail, use smbutil or the "mail" sysop command, but that should not be necessary in this case.
