Well, I believe it's time to let vmodem rest in pieces. It sure is not

Correct. The port 3141 (tcp/udp) is now closed from the internet. It was open during the tests.

Telnet to your alternate port (360) is answered by FrontDoor/2 and pressing ESC twice allows me to log in to the BBS.

You have TELNET server answering at that port. It is working fine.

IMHO I think that vmodem is working fine!

You have also VMODEM server answering at port 3141. From my point of view it is not working.
