    Where do I get a download of 4.08b? I tried telnet://shsbbs.net port 22
    and

I don't know about LORD 4.08b, but I do have a LORD 4.07 for 32-bit Windows that was given to me by Michael P
    (Z) back in 2005: https://vert.synchro.net/files/Main/DOORS/lord_407_w32.zip

It's a 32-bit console mode Windows executable that uses Socket I/O or (for WINS) DOOR32.DLL.

This version was never released and I've sat on this for over 20 years. Hopefully some other LORD fans can make
good use of it. The LORDCFG.EXE in there is still 16-bit DOS, so requires a suitable environment/emulator to
run the configuration program. -- digital man (rob)

    Does it support DOS IGMs?

rob has 4.08 on his bbs. vert.synchro.net
the 32bit version of windows was up on the lord website. it's really not worth using.
you can use some backalley 32bit igms with it.

rob's copy of lord32 has a bunch of garbage in it. a bunch of executables that don't belong and batchfiles.
the copy I have is cleaner, if you want it you can have it. there's no point in using it, though.

I also have the linux version of lord.
    I uploaded that to vert.

I don't think it does. I seem to recall Z (Michael P) clarify that, but someone should try it anyway.

Yup, it's as Z gave it to me.

the 32bit version of windows was up on the lord website.

It was? Does anyone have *that* archive or (old) link? archive.org might have it. It might be different/newer than the one that Z gave me.

    it's really not worth using.

I think sysops running on Windows-x64 systems would be happy to have/use it.

there is only one version that was released of lord32bit. he had it on the site for a very short time and then took it down. it was when that bullshit about gamesport stealing his cut of registrations went on.

he also gave me a copy of 32 but i think it was just a few files. i had to marry it with lord 4.7's files and I didn't like the newer ansis so i put in the old ones. My bbses were the beta testers for lord because I had a lot of users and they would give feedback.

I uploaded my copy. for some reason the file_id.diz was for the fixed npclord util so i changed that. So lord32.zip is on vert now.

no you can't use dos igms with lord32.

    it's really not worth using.

I think sysops running on Windows-x64 systems would be happy to have/use it.

Well that handful of sysops would just run it for the sake of running it. i dont think they'd be happy.

People should be able to run 16bit doorgames if they want games on their bbses. lord32 is limited because you can't use the different igms and npc programs and utils that you can in a 16bit environment. igms really expand the game.

not sure if preslar would like me releasing this but people like lordtime were releasing it for almost 20 years on their bbs. also i'm sure hundreds of people have lord32 because it was on my BBStorrents site and tons of people downloaded from it.

The thing that is a true shame is we won't ever have the web version of lord which I really liked. I was able to test that out.

I am running L.O.R.D 4.08b with 77 IGMs. I find the IGMs do expand the game and help players immerse themselves any even more aspects of L.O.R.D. I have some people spending 20 to 30 minutes a day playing it. I do not reset my game so it just keeps growing. We really love it.
