Hey Benny!
is there a plan for 8k ? :=)
Heh, heh. There wasn't a plan for 4k but you got me curious so now I need to come up with a plan ... or not.
As we speak I have the 4k monitor (28" Samsung) hooked to my workstation which currently is an i5-9400 and is 4k ready.
I tried the multiple monitor thingy (xinerama) on the laptop and it worked, but it failed on the ASRock 4X4-R1000. No big deal to me as I wasn't really planning to add multple monitors on there. The 7" widescreen I already had for it is more then enough for it's day-to-day usage. At this point I am guessing that the 4X4-R1000 is not 4k ready which is no real surprise. Bottomline is that I can wait until a suitable candidate shows up along the line of a Matrox G200. Those were the days.
On the plus side I managed to create a x86_64-znver2-linux-gnu enviroment using the laptop so now I have something to kickstart a Zen 2 based system such as your 16 penguin Asus. However my motivation would be for other reasons then 4k monitors.
Soon ... maybe ... we'll see. I am definetly tempted.
Life is good,
Maurice
