    Hello Everybody,

    As I have mentioned in this echo, as well as in other echoes,
    the participants own the echo (and all Fidonet echoes). As such,
    it is participants themselves who set whatever rules to play by.
    Hence the need for only two main rules to be stated, as noted
    in The Rules.

    Addendum to The Rules, as posted, showing original rules
    from 2015 as reference -


    Rules for the Debate Echo

    Description:

    This is the Debate Echo. Area tag: DEBATE

    Moderator:

    Lee Lofaso, 2:203/2, is the permanent moderator of this echo.

    Policy:

    The Echopol1 policy is parliamentary authority, excepting that
    characters above 0x7e hex, 126 decimal (sometimes known as HI ASCII)
    are permitted (i.e. para V.18.a does not apply).

    Availability:

    Every sysop, regardless of zone, is encouraged to make this echo
    available to any and all individuals, with full access granted for
    both reading and writing.

    Purpose:

    The purpose of this echo is the debating of topics, decided by the
    participants themselves.

    General Rules:

    1. The moderator's ruling is final.

    2. No ad hominems. Flames do not belong here, nor are they welcome.

    3. Posting of copyrighted material is strictly forbidden. Fair use
    is allowed, and encouraged, as some quoting of material is helpful.
    But crossing the line will not be tolerated.

    4. The moderator reserves the right to make a rule that is not listed
    in the rules in order to bring order to this echo if the case arises.

    5. Articles are not to be posted in their entirety, especially if
    they are copyrighted. Provide a link, or cite source, so others
    can follow if they wish.
