After a rather nasty winter for the most part we are just coming off
of a run of several days slightly above freezing, and nights not much
below freezing. But you can't get complacent, it's still a little
early to not get hit with some serious cold and snow here..

When I got up this morning and looked out the window I thought
that it was a white-out snowstorm going on, but it turned out to
be snow white fog.. Never seen fog look that white. It lasted all
day and I'm not sure how long after dark, but we didn't get any
new snow anyways..

Probably true in many/most cases. There is a percentage of kids who
become experts at the tech but there are probably a lot more who just
know how to work what they use and don't learn much extra.

Canada sometimes sounds like paradise, until one reads about how cold it
can get in areas that are farther south than several places in the USA! :O

I spent 5 or 6 months in Florida when I first stopped working for other
people thinking it would be great to get away from the cold but I gave
that up after a while. Winter down there isn't exactly beach weather
where I was, not that I'm a big beach person anyways, but I missed
having all the seasons.. B)

Also, back then it was even colder than now. These days -30c (-22f)
is pretty rare where I am but back in the late 80's you could
expect to hit -40c (-40f) now and then..

Other than the odd cold day it's not so bad now. It's getting up
close to or slightly above freezing quite frequently during the
day and it's a whole lot easier to heat the house.. B)
