Hi everyone,
Jason Bock, the owner and developer of ProBoard, has announced that a new version of PB (v2.30) will be released on December 16, 2023.
For more details, please see the PROBOARD echo.
John bought the source code from the former Telegrafix programmer who legally owned it. John had others go through it and fix a few things but the PB source code was still a terrible mess (I know; I have a copy of it). John then realized he couldn't do much with it so he sold it to Jason who
John then realized he couldn't do much with it so he sold it to Jason who has been able to fix a lot of the "fatal" issues with the PB code.
Jason Bock is a member of Fidonet and can be reached in the PROBOARD echo or at proboardbbs.com. He's also a member of Micronet and can be contacted in MIN_PB.
Just a head's up, your recent messages (from ProBoard v2.17) have been received multiple times here. Since the messagess don't have a message-ID, only content dupe checking would work to discovwer/remove the dupes (which guess I will now enable for this echo). Just thought I'd let you know.

Odd you mention this, I only received it one time over this way.
Without Message-IDs, the only way to deduplicate is via message content (e. body text).

My system has dedupe'd without any message-ID nonsense, for many years now.

Sean's messages are arriving here via multiple different paths:

Not sure if it is because I am a version behind, or some other reason, but whatever dupes there were had filtered out when they got here. My board only has one copy of Sean's messages.
I checked and I have Squish set to dupe check both the message header
and the MSGID. Could it be a system is in a negative feedback loop and sending out mail it's already received?
If negative feedback loop means a system in the Path line is stripping Seen-By lines, likely yes.
Same here. I just didn't have body-text dupe checking enabled for this echo (never needed it here), before now.
Hello, Rob!
Replying to a message of Rob Swindell to Nick Andre:

This is the first time I've seen it in here also.

I'll try to get to the bottom of this. Not sure why it's happening.
Looks like the ProBoard echomail program/support doesn't include Message- ID support (?).

Yes but it still compiles and works. How do I know? I have a copy of
the original archive John was given.

Every website should have a contact link.
Every website should have a contact link.
Every website has a contact email like I just told you. Not my problem
that
you're too obstinate to use the info I gave you.
Now drop the subject in here. No one cares.

You likely have (body-text) dupe-checking enabled for this echo in SCFG.
The only dupe checking I have is "50 message CRCs". If that is the same as "(body-text)" you are correct.
