    Hi sodalis,

I don't remember if this question went around many years ago, but here I am again: some of you are using a client to access the BBBS message base, and edit, answer, enter messages, and so on?

Currently, I am doing it through the BBBS's web interface (and there is no problem) but I would like to explore new possibilities.

I've just remembered that once was the BlueMail message editor... but, do you know if there are some other alternatives?

    A reveure!!

One way is with a QWK or BlueWave offline reader.

I use MultiMail and it has served me well for years.

BBBS supports QWK and BlueWave (and others), I use BlueWave for mat when it is available and QWK when it isn't.

There are a few but I like bluemail and set the grab format to bluewave. It used to be able to directly read the BBBS message areas but that no longers seems to work, well on my Pi's

I think someone once mentioned adding BBBS to GoldEd but that never seems to have gone anywhere.

I use bluemail on my Mac and have lzrssz or whatever it is set to auto download from my bbbs (or any bbbs) on iterm

:-m Ah, yes. With my SysOp account, will be ok... (I'm a little afraid to dust off my old BlueWave knowledge...)

Multimail as a QWK/BW processor? Or accessing directly to the BBBS message base (like GoldED to JAM bases)?

I've noted your suggestion. Thank you! ;-)

    Hi Sean,

    It
used to be able to directly read the BBBS message areas but that no longers seems to work, well on my Pi's

I will check it (I will let you know if I succeed).

I think this is a major feature... I don't know if the maintainers are alive... >I use bluemail on my Mac and have lzrssz or whatever it is set to auto downloa
from my bbbs (or any bbbs) on iterm

This will be my last option. As you and Alan said to me, my last option will be the QWK/BW door... Thank you anyway.

Remind me, what is the message base ?

If Jam squish etc it is supported and yes there are others so golded should be ok - build it and try it.

I do like GoldED but as it doesnt work directly with BBBS I no longer use it. I will see if I can work out why bluemail is not working with bbbs

No, MultiMail is an offline mail reader, it needs either QWK or BW packets from a BBS.

You need to either telnet to a BBS that supports offline mail or some times you can use FTP. When you use ftp the filename is always grab, also your reply packets need to be called grab when uploaded.

I use a command like this to download via ftp..

    get grab trmb.qwk (or trmb.sa1)

And a command like this to upload reply packets..

    put trmb.rep (or trmb.new) grab
